2009 Predictions (Mid-Year)

I predict that the Kansas City Chiefs will win the coveted Lombardi Trophy on February 7, 2010. Now, I could be wrong on this prediction. I do not claim prophetic, psychic or supernatural gifts for foretelling the future. But I do have wonderful hindsight and could be classified as an accurate Monday morning quarterback. Check with me on Monday morning February 8th, 2010 when I will probably be having "crow" for breakfast. Not exactly the "breakfast of champions".

There are some prophets and prophecies that CAN be Monday morning quarterbacked. These prophets predicted events 500-1000 years and beyond, before their ultimate fulfillment and unlike a temporal Lombardi Trophy these prophets predicted events with eternal ramifications; I’m talking about the gospel message.

So if you’ve never heard the "gospel message" before let me give you the predictions of the Biblical Prophets from over 2500 years ago:

Predicted by The Psalmist, a Savior crucified, rejected and scorned: "I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels. My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death. For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me. They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture. But be not thou far from me, O LORD: O my strength, haste thee to help me." (Ps 22) Prophecy fulfilled in the 1st Century AD at Calvary.

Isaiah predicted His resurrection: "Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities." (Isa 53:10) Prophecy fulfilled at Calvary and 3 days after Calvary.

Isaiah predicted His purpose: "thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth." (Isa 49:6) Prophecy is yet being fulfilled in the entire world.

Isaiah predicted His message: "Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. Surely, shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed. In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory." (Isa 45:22-25) Prophecy is being fulfilled in every scripture-driven church every Sunday.

I will simply add this. "Look..... NOW is the acceptable time, NOW is the day of salvation. Christ died for sinners. Repent (turn from your naturalistic worldview) and believe the gospel."

(If you’ve read this entry to this point perhaps the Holy Spirit of God may have brought you here. I have received numerous hits on my entry "2009 Predictions" from "google" enquirers looking for answers concerning the future. I pray that your future may be eternally secure by trusting in Christ Jesus.)
